February Keys Weekend

It was a great wekend in the Keys. Flat calm seas, no wind, and unlimited visibility, best conditions I’ve seen since October. The air temp was in the upper 70’s both days which made up for the balmy 69 degree water temp. Nothing an extra layer of neoprene couldn’t solve.

Every kind of creature imaginable was out including several nurse sharks, Goliath Grouper, large schools of various tropical fish, several large rays, and a few turtles, even one with a gimpy arm (awwe) that was quite friendly. A little baby turtle swam away from us on the City of Washington and I swear looked just like Crush (from Disney/Pixar’s “Finding Nemo”)

We have 3 newly certified PADI Open Water Scuba Diver’s in the world and a new PADI Underwater Navigator as a result.

Holiday Party

Come celebrate the Holidays with all your dive buddies at Scuba Outfitters. We are having a holiday gathering at the dive shop on the 18th of December starting at 7:00 pm. The Scuba Outfitters dive elves will be providing snack foods, non alcoholic drinks, and eggnog. You are also invited to bring your favorite holiday dish and drink. There will be a Secret Santa gift exchange. Bring a wrapped gift under $20! Santa Clause will be diving in our pool from 6 to 9 pm. Come and get your underwater picture taken with Santa for $5. We will be sending you a personalized Christmas Card with your picture on it. It will be a great way to ring in the holidays. Please RSVP on scubaout.com if you are attending! Don’t miss out. DEMA

Mike, John, and Jamie are fresh back from DEMA (Dive Equipment & Marketing Association) Show 2009 in Orlando. The world’s largest dive and snorkel trade show.

We have some cool new gear that will be in the store within a week or so, just in time for the Holidays.
Scuba Outfitters also has some amazing travel opportunities and deals for 2010.

Scuba Outfitters charters local gulf diving

Are you ready to dive on some beautiful local artificial reefs? Are you ready to see huge schools of both tropical and sport fishes? Are you ready to get up close to one of the largest species of fish? Then we have great news, Scuba Outfitters has contracted with local Captain Steve Hardy of Reel Therapy to start running Gulf dive charters.

Scuba Outfitters will be scheduling a 2 tank dive charter every Saturday. We will also be offering a great activity to help you unwind on Hump Day with a Wednesday 2 tank Night Dive.

Costs:

Normal Dive Charter : $85

Towers/Blackhole : $95

Night Dive: $80

Charters prices do not include tanks and weights.

Upcoming dives every Saturday and Wednesday. Contact Scuba Outfitters at 280-5500 to reserve your spot now. There are only six spots per trip.
